About Vomit Films

Vomit films was founded by Richie and Heidi Vomit back in 2005 at one of the many, midnight coffee sessions out of a truck stop in Iowa. With $40, a cheap handy cam bought off of eBay, a handful of unemployed, punk-rockers, and a screenplay scribbled on napkins and lined paper, Richie and Heidi filmed Farmlands (2006), a film based off a song by Sioux City Pete & the Beggars, is about a young group of friends who befall a tragic fate as they are relentlessly pursued through the farmlands of Iowa by a cannibalistic family.

Inspired by their enormous support of the local community and the success of the film, Richie went on to create, Machete Mamas, a story of four, down-on-their-luck sex workers who seek revenge with Machetes on those who have wronged them. This film was shot with a Sony VX1000 in 2007.

Vomit Films has continued throughout the past two decades by creating shorts and mock trailers. Currently under production is a zombie film called the Cornfed Dead. The release date is not yet set. In 2023, Richie won several awards at the Pittsburgh Moving Picture Festival for the Cornfed Dead Trailer.
